San Diego Miracle Milk Stroll 2016!

The Miracle Milk® Stroll is casual walk around the park to show our excitement and solidarity for this historic first—a national fundraising and awareness campaign for the human milk cause! It’s not a march, or a walk for distance. Each location will decide for how long or how far they choose to stroll.

For the stroll we plan to meet by the tables under the trees near the parking lot. We will walk from the park North to the fountain by the Reuben H Fleet Science center, walk down a ways and loop back around to Pepper Grove Park. We will end the stroll with a picnic. Please bring food, drinks, blankets, etc.

Join the Facebook Group for updates.

Please follow this link to register, cost is $10 and you can add any donation amount you would like: http://www.miraclemilk.org/product/stroll-registration/

If you would like to purschase a Tshirt to wear at the event please follow this link: http://www.onlinedonationstore.com/best-for-babes

The Miracle Milk Stroll is a project of the Best for Babes Foundation. 500 U.S. and Canadian preemie infants die annually, and 5,000 more are sickened, from Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC). Feeding these fragile babies human milk has been shown to reduce the risk of NEC by 79%. NEC causes indescribable anguish to babies and parents. Just one NEC-related surgery can cost $200,000, not including lifelong complications and treatment. The AAP recommends donor milk for fragile babies, yet 60% of NICUs don’t use it. We need your help to make the 2016 Miracle Milk Stroll a success!

All net profits from this event will be distributed to this year’s non-profit beneficiaries, all of whom are working to increase access to human milk for vulnerable infants. This year’s beneficiaries are the Human Milk Bank of North America (HMBANA), the NEC Society, La Leche USA, and the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA). Your stroll registration fee is a tax-deductible donation which not only supports Best for Babes and our worthy non-profit partners, but also serves as your ticket to swag and prizes on the day of the event. We thank you for your financial support of any amount. But this is not the only way you can help! The Miracle Milk Stroll is also a milk drive. Help get more life-saving human milk to babies in need. Find your nearest HMBANA milk bank here. Best for Babes is the only mainstream, independent nonprofit dedicated to changing the cultural perception of breastfeeding and human milk and to removing the barriers—the breastfeeding Booby Traps®—that prevent millions of moms annually from realizing their personal feeding goals.

We believe that ALL moms deserve to make a truly informed feeding decision and to be cheered on, coached and celebrated without pressure, judgment, or guilt! We believe ALL breastfeeding moms deserve to achieve their personal breastfeeding goals without being undermined by cultural and institutional Booby Traps. We believe ALL moms who decide not to, or are unable to breastfeed, deserve information about and access to safe donor milk—the next best substitute to a mother’s own milk. Best for Babes unites people under the human milk cause through ongoing projects and events: the Miracle Milk® Stroll; celebrity Champions for Moms; Nursing Harassment Hotline; the C.A.R.E-Code Alliance; and more. For more information or to get involved through your donations or volunteer time, please visit the Best for Babes website.
